About Sophie
Sophie provides warm, thoughtful therapy for children, adolescents and adults via telehealth. She is culturally aware, inclusive, and brings genuine curiosity to each person's story.
Sophie uses her warmth, intuition and deep interest in a person's story to accentuate her therapeutic intervention. Providing space for her clients to create a framework for a positive relationship with themselves and the world around them.
Prior to working in private practice in NSW, she has worked in the public sector providing crisis intervention and ongoing therapy in perinatal mental health, early psychosis intervention and youth mental health.
She draws on a range of evidence-based psychological approaches including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Compassion Focused Therapy and Mindfulness, and tailors her approach to each individual client.
Sophie believes oppression has a major impact on a person's wellbeing. She works to be inclusive and culturally aware in her intervention and promotes understanding the social, cultural and environmental influences on mental health and wellbeing.
She actively acknowledges the traditional owners of the Bundjalung land where she is currently practising.
