Accessibility

Care that's accessible to everyone.

Accessibility is one of our four guiding values. Mental health care should reach the people who need it — regardless of disability, language, location, or technology preference. This page sets out our commitments and how to reach us if anything falls short.

Our standard

We aim for WCAG 2.1 Level AA conformance across our website. WCAG (Web Content Accessibility Guidelines) is the internationally recognised standard for digital accessibility, and Level AA is the threshold expected of healthcare and government services in Australia.

We test against this standard during development using a combination of automated tools (axe DevTools, Lighthouse), manual keyboard navigation, and screen reader testing. We re-audit before each major release.

Website accessibility features

  • Semantic HTML throughout (proper heading hierarchy, landmarks, lists, and form labels)
  • Full keyboard navigation — every interactive element is reachable via Tab and operable via Enter or Space
  • Visible focus indicators on all interactive elements
  • Skip-to-main-content link at the top of every page
  • ARIA labels on icon-only buttons
  • Alt text on all meaningful images
  • Colour contrast meets WCAG 2.1 AA (4.5:1 for body text, 3:1 for large text)
  • No information conveyed by colour alone
  • Forms with explicit labels, error announcements, and clear validation feedback
  • Animations respect the prefers-reduced-motion setting
  • Page zooms cleanly to 200% without breaking layout
  • Compatible with screen readers (tested with VoiceOver on macOS and NVDA on Windows)

Clinic accessibility

Our physical clinics also work toward accessible care:

  • Wheelchair-accessible entrances at most clinic locations (some older buildings have steps — see individual clinic pages or call ahead)
  • Telehealth available Australia-wide for anyone unable to travel to a clinic
  • Auslan interpreters can be arranged in advance for sessions where required
  • Sensory-aware practice — clinicians can dim lights, reduce noise, and adapt the session environment for sensory sensitivities
  • Service animals welcome at all clinics

Specific accessibility features vary by location — check the individual clinic page for details, or call the clinic before your first appointment to discuss what you need.

Known limitations

We try to be honest about gaps:

  • The embedded Sanity Studio at /studio is a content-management interface for our staff, not a public page. It hasn't been independently audited for accessibility.
  • Booking sessions runs through Halaxy (our practice management system) — Halaxy's accessibility is outside our direct control. If you have trouble with the Halaxy booker, please call us and we'll book over the phone.
  • Some older clinic buildings have step-only entrances. We're prioritising telehealth and choosing accessible new locations as we expand.

Tell us if something doesn't work

If you encounter an accessibility barrier — on this website, when booking, or at a clinic — please let us know so we can fix it. Email accessibility@succoris.com.au or use our contact page. We respond within 5 business days and will work with you on a fix or workaround.

Discrimination complaints

If you believe you've been discriminated against on the basis of disability, you can also lodge a complaint with the Australian Human Rights Commission — visit humanrights.gov.au or call 1300 656 419.
