Bookings & appointments

What happens at my first appointment?

At your first session we'll map out what's going on, clarify goals, and design a plan you feel good about. No referral is required to book — if you're eligible for Medicare rebates under a Mental Health Care Plan from your GP, we can process that for you. Whenever you're ready to take the next step, we're here to help.

Fees & rebates

Can I continue therapy after using all my MHCP sessions?

Yes. You may continue with your psychologist, however, you will not be eligible for further Medicare rebates until a new Mental Health Care Plan is issued by your GP.

Referrals

What information is needed for NDIS, DVA or third-party referrals?

We require your client number, invoicing details, and your case worker's name and contact details, along with your usual personal information.

Why do you need a copy of my NDIS plan?

Having a copy of your NDIS plan allows our clinicians to align therapy with your current goals, ensuring treatment is consistent with your support plan.

Therapy & assessments

Do I stay with my child during sessions?

For children under 12, the first appointment is a parent-only session. From there, your clinician will guide you on the best treatment plan. Most sessions are one-on-one with your child, but your involvement will be discussed and tailored to your child's needs.

How do you support teens?

Growing up can be tough — and school pressures don't help. We work with young people and parents on:

  • Exam anxiety and performance nerves
  • School refusal and attendance difficulties
  • Study skills, motivation and routines
  • Social anxiety, friendship issues and confidence
  • Parent coaching and school liaison (with consent)
How does family counselling work?

Family counselling involves sessions where family members work together with a psychologist to explore challenges, improve communication, and strengthen relationships. The format is flexible and tailored to each family.

How many sessions will I need?

The number of sessions varies for each person depending on their needs and goals. Your psychologist will discuss this with you in the first session and create a personalised plan.
