Session fees

Standard and concession rates for a 50-minute session. Some clinicians charge slightly above these defaults — exact fees are on each profile.

Registered psychologist

Clinical psychologist
$260 standard · $200 concession
Couples & family sessions
Rates vary by clinician — see each psychologist's profile or ask reception.

Concession rates are available for clients experiencing financial hardship. Browse our team → for each psychologist's fees near the booking section.

Psychological assessments

Assessment pricing depends on the type of assessment and your individual circumstances — we will discuss fees with you before any assessment begins, so you know what to expect.

To enquire about an assessment, contact your nearest clinic or your referring GP.

Medicare rebates

With a Mental Health Treatment Plan from your GP, you can claim up to 10 sessions per calendar year. Current rebate amounts (MBS, 2026):

  • Clinical psychologist$145.25
  • Registered psychologist$98.95
  • Accredited Mental Health Social Worker$87.25

You pay the full session fee on the day. We process the Medicare rebate for you; it lands in the bank account linked to your Medicare within 1–2 business days. A GP review is required after the 6th session.

Other funding options

NDIS
Self-managed and plan-managed participants can book directly. We charge at NDIS Price Guide rates for Capacity Building — Improved Daily Living.
WorkSafe, TAC, DVA, ICWA
All third-party claims are welcome. Charged at the relevant body's approved rates. We'll need your claim number and case worker details.
Private health insurance
Most private health funds rebate between $45 and $100 per session under Extras cover — varies by fund and tier. You can claim either Medicare OR private health for a given session, but not both.
EAP (Employee Assistance Programs)
Short-term, confidential sessions funded by your employer — usually 3–6 sessions at no cost. Your employer is not told who uses the service. Learn more about EAP →

Questions about fees

Do I pay on the day?
Yes, payment is processed at the end of each session. If you have a Medicare Mental Health Treatment Plan, the rebate is submitted on the day and lands in your bank account within 1–2 business days.
How many Medicare-rebated sessions can I claim per year?
Up to 10 individual sessions and 10 group sessions per calendar year under a Mental Health Treatment Plan. A review with your GP is required after the 6th session to continue the rebate for the remaining sessions.
What's the difference between a registered and clinical psychologist?
Both are AHPRA-registered and qualified to assess and treat mental health conditions. Clinical psychologists have completed additional postgraduate specialisation (minimum 8 years of study) and attract a higher Medicare rebate.
Does private health cover psychology sessions?
Most private health funds rebate a portion of psychology sessions under Extras cover. The amount varies by fund and tier. Check with your insurer before booking. You can claim either Medicare OR private health for a session — not both.
What's the cancellation policy?
If you cancel or reschedule within 48 business hours of your appointment, 50% of the session fee applies. Within 24 business hours, or if you do not attend, the full fee applies. For Monday or Tuesday appointments, please let us know before the weekend. A full copy of our cancellation policy is available on request.
