About Alison
Alison provides a warm, supportive and collaborative therapeutic approach, creating a safe space where clients feel heard, understood and empowered to work towards meaningful change.
Alison works with children, adolescents and adults experiencing a range of psychological challenges including anxiety, depression, stress, trauma, emotional regulation difficulties, grief and loss and adjustment to life transitions. Alison values providing an inclusive and affirming space where clients feel understood, respected and supported in their individual experiences.
In her practice, Alison draws on a range of evidence-based therapeutic approaches including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and mindfulness based approaches. She believes in the importance of tailoring treatment to each individual's unique needs, creating a compassionate and collaborative therapeutic environment.
Alison has a particular passion for working with children and adolescents and values building strong therapeutic relationships that help young people feel safe, confident and supported. Alison enjoys helping children and young people build emotional understanding, confidence and coping skills in a way that feels engaging, developmentally appropriate, and empowering. She also works closely with caregivers to strengthen understanding, connection and wellbeing within the family system.
She actively acknowledges the traditional owners of the Bundjalung land where she is currently practicing.
