At Succoris Psychology, we recognise that relationships can be one of the greatest sources of connection and support in our lives — but also one of the most significant areas of stress when difficulties arise. Conflict within relationships, separation, breakdowns in communication, and ongoing co-parenting challenges can have a profound impact on emotional wellbeing, family functioning, and mental health for both adults and children.
Our relationship specialist, Ryan Dixon, works with individuals and couples at our Maroochydore clinic across a broad range of concerns including communication difficulties, recurring conflict, emotional disconnection, trust issues, parenting stress, and the challenges that can emerge during and after separation. Ryan's approach focuses on helping clients better understand relationship dynamics, strengthen communication, reduce patterns of conflict, and create healthier, more sustainable ways of relating to one another — even in situations where reconciliation may not be the goal.
As part of continuing to strengthen our relationship therapy services, we are pleased to be introducing the Gottman Assessment process into our intake and treatment planning framework. Developed by renowned relationship researchers John Gottman and Julie Gottman, the Gottman Method is an evidence-based approach grounded in decades of research into relationship functioning and long-term relationship success.
The assessment process provides a comprehensive understanding of a couple's strengths, stress points, communication patterns, conflict styles, and areas requiring support. This allows therapy to be more tailored, practical, and goal-focused from the beginning, ensuring treatment plans are responsive to each couple's unique circumstances and needs.
Whether clients are hoping to rebuild connection, improve communication, navigate separation in a healthier way, or strengthen co-parenting relationships following separation, our aim at Succoris Psychology is to provide a safe, respectful, and supportive space for meaningful and lasting change.
